Darrin Cisco
Chair, Conference Committee
Darrin Cisco, a distinguished member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, boasts a rich legacy as a two-decade veteran in tribal VR. Nurtured since his youth in the traditional ways by his parents, grandparents, and elders from both his tribe and neighboring tribes, Darrin actively engages in, conducts, and participates in ceremonies and cultural events across the nation.
A devoted father to five boys and five girls, Darrin takes immense pride in passing on the tribal culture and language to the next generation. As one of the tribe's cultural historians, he holds a unique position as one of the few individuals preserving and imparting the Apache language.
In recognition of his commitment to tribal advancement, Darrin was appointed as the chair of the CANAR Conference and Planning Committee in June 2023, further solidifying his role as a dedicated custodian of cultural heritage and a leader within the tribal community.
